Summary
I am a geotechnical engineer passionate about geotechnics and mine waste management, recently graduated with a Master's degree in Mineral Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal. My technical skills include geotechnical characterization, mine waste management, and the construction of embankment dams and dikes. My academic and professional background has allowed me to develop strong technical expertise, reinforced by internships in industrial settings. Committed and self-reliant, I have also developed a strong sense of responsibility and excellent teamwork skills through volunteer and community leadership experiences. I now wish to apply my skills to sustainable engineering projects, while continuing to develop my technical and professional knowledge within a dynamic team. I am eager to contribute to innovative solutions in mine waste management and to grow as an engineer alongside experienced professionals.
Project Manager
Polytechnique Montréal
Conducted an experimental research project in mining geotechnics aimed at characterizing the post-failure behavior of a co-disposal structure of mine tailings and waste rock. Key responsibilities and achievements included: - Design and planning of the experimental protocol, including the definition of geotechnical parameters to be studied and the testing methodology. - Execution and monitoring of a laboratory testing campaign on samples at different scales to analyze the flow behavior of mine tailings. - Physical modeling (using flume tests) of three failure scenarios (tailings only, a mixture of tailings and waste rock, and tailings confined within a single waste rock cell) to understand flow mechanisms and propose risk mitigation solutions. - Advanced analysis and interpretation of experimental data. - Synthesis and writing of results in a Master's thesis, with regular presentations of progress to supervising professors and the research committee. - Active collaboration with a multidisciplinary research team within the Research Institute on Mines and Environment (IRME).
Geotechnical Engineering Intern – Mitacs Globalink Scholarship
Polytechnique Montréal
Assessment of the hydro-geotechnical behavior of the interaction between waste rock and mine tailings in an integrated tailings management context. Key tasks and achievements: - Geotechnical characterization of materials (waste rock, tailings, sand). - Validation and calibration of experimental equipment and testing protocols to ensure the reliability of collected data. - Conducted preliminary tests on internal water migration in sand. These tests verified the reliability of the experimental setup before proceeding with the main tests on the migration of mine tailings through waste rock. Tailings movement was tracked using tracers. - Synthesis and presentation of experimental results in a technical report format for the supervising professor.
